5 Important 2010 Feng Shui Must Haves/To Do to Maximize Good Luck!

1. INVITE THE DRAGON INTO YOUR HOUSE!

In my previous blogs I mentioned about the fact that there is a total absence of the Water element in 2010 Feng Shui Bazi/Paht Chee chart. This signifies drying up of resources. However, as I always tell my friends and clients, it’s useless to know something if one can’t do something about it.

Dragon is also a symbol of luck and wealth. So one of the easiest way to address this concern is for us to invite the Dragon. The Dragon also combined with the Tiger and the Rabbit which both appears in the 2010 Bazi/Paht Chee Chart will signify Spring, which is also a wealth component.

First, if you can afford it, or if you know somebody that can help arrange it for you, it will be nice to have the Dragon dance in your house on Feb. 4, 2010. Why Feb. 4, 2010? That is because that’s the Lap Chun. (MORE ON LAP CHUN ON MY SUCCEEDING BLOGS.)

Invite the Dragon into your house thru a Dragon Dance on Feb. 4, 2010 to help bring wealth luck.

Because Chinese New Year this year happens after the Lap Chun w/c always happens on Feb. 4, this indicates that we will miss out on the Lap Chun, and missing out on a Lap Chun is a serious affliction that can cause strife and tremendous disagreements. This means a house that miss out the Lap Chun will find its residents experiencing strife and disagreements.

If you can’t afford to have the Dragon Dance it will also be nice if you place a Dragon Water Fountain in your living room. If you can place an image of the Yellow Dzambala under the water it will help further enhance your wealth luck.

Choose a Dragon Water Fountain that looks fierce but yet friendly. This one is has negative look.

2. MAKE THE DRAGON AN ALLY!
It will also benefit all of us if we’re to wear a Dragon pendant, be it either made of metal (gold), semi-precious stone like jade, or wood. But whatever happens avoid wearing something that’s made of plastic.

A word of caution. The Dog is in direct conflict with the Dragon as an animal sign but not as a Feng Shui symbol so even the Dog can wear a Dragon pendant. However, while all the animal sign can wear any Dragon pendant design they like, as long as its an image that makes them feel the yang or positive chi, the Dog should make it a point to only wear a small Dragon pendant to avoid too much yang Dragon energy.

Dragon Pendants made of metal, precious or semi-precious stones, wood are good but never use anything that's made of plastic. People born under the sign of the Dog should choose a smaller pendant.

3. CARRY OR WEAR THE WATER!
What do I mean by this? It will be nice if all of us can carry the water with us all the time. This can be easily done by simple carrying a small bottled water. We can even be drinking it. But if you don’t want the discomfort or the hassle of always carrying a bottled water, you can also come and see me and I can make a special Water Wealth Charm for you. This will have to be specifically design for you base on your birthday. This will include your wealth enhancing crystal and a Taoist Paper Amulet of a Wealth God.

Lillian Too also has designed a charm that she calls Blue Water Globe. I have only seen this in picture but base on the principle that it has a ‘blue water’ inside, I think it will be an effective tool to ‘carry the water’.

You can also ‘wear the water’ by always wearing blue or black. However, let me clarify that ‘carrying the water’ is far more effective.

4. TAKE NOTE OF HIGHLY PRESENT GOOD STAR AND ENHANCE THEM! There’s a very highly present good star this year and that is the Mentor Star.

Mentor Star basically indicates that although this year might be a little challenging when it comes to the wealth aspect, we will not be lacking people who would be willing to help, and a lot of growth in our life will come from people who may act as our teacher or mentor. To activate or further enhance the luck brought about by the Mentor Star it will be good if you can wear a Big Man Dzi Bead enhanced with Amethyst.

5. Take Note of the Appearance of a Negative Star or Neutral Star!
Most important of the five recommendations is to check and work on the appearance of a negative star and/or a neutral star.

This year we find ourselves confronting a special star which is called the Hostile Sword Star. This is brought about by the fact that the Heavenly Stem this Year with an intrinsically wood animal sign which is the Tiger. On top of that the Tiger appears twice in a highly metal year thus it created the Hostile Sword Star. This may bring about issues/concerns regarding our personal and family safety, career, personal and family health, wealth.

To counter the Hostile Sword Star, we need to wear a 9-Rings Sword Pendant made of gold. As mentioned in my previous blogs this could be very expensive, an alternative for this one is to wear a Tibetan Prayer Wheel pendant and/or Om Mani Padme Hum Pendant/Bracelet coupled with a Four-Faced Buddha. Among the three I prefer the 9-Rings Sword Pendant and the Tibetan Prayer Wheel more than Om Mani Padme Hum Pendant/Bracelet coupled with Four Faced Buddha..

Tibetan Prayer Wheels are powerful protection and luck/blessing enhancement charm.

Authentic and/or Good Tibetan Prayer Wheel can be a little pricey. But if you can invest on one it will surely be a good investment because it also serves as a very good protection charm.

Four-Faced Buddha is a popular deity in Thailand.

Another thing that we have to watch out for is the neutral star. Neutral Stars are star that have a potential to do both good and harm. This year we have the neutral Romance Star. As mentioned in my previous blogs the Romance may be beneficial to some people but it also maybe harmful. This is specially true for the people born under the year of the rat.

The Romance Star which brings internal romance to singles may also bring external romance to engaged or married couple. (TO UNDERSTAND THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN INTERNAL AND EXTERNAL ROMANCE, PLEASE REFER TO ‘2010 CHINESE ANIMAL SIGN GENERAL FENG SHUI FORECAST PART 1.)

For singles who wishes to enhance this luck you can wear Mandarin Ducks charm. For couples who wish to make sure that their relationship doesn’t get affected with the External Romance you can wear as a couple a 2-Eye Dzi Bead enhanced with Rose Quartz/Prehnite/Onyx/Black Tourmaline/Amethyst. If you’re already married aside from wearing the 2-Eye Dzi Bead you can also place an amethyst geode tied with red string under your bed.

Amethyst Geode with Red String is a very good cure for married couples who are experiencing problems with infidelity. Place it under your bed. If there's no hallow space under the bed place one on each side of the bed.

2010 Chinese Animal Sign General Feng Shui Forecast! (Part 2)

As mentioned in my previous blogs the year is sorely lacking of the water element, therefore, wealth might be elusive. In fact, I seem to get an affirmation of this matter when this morning I was going around shopping for a bank that can give me a good interest rate for my dollar savings. It proved to be really a tiring task, the only one who was able to give me an interesting rate is when I went to Citibank Philippines in T. Morato, but even them suggested that I bring and deposit my money in Citibank Singapore, which at the moment, base on my scouting, has the most competitive rate. Nevertheless, let me clarify, that as mentioned, wealth will be on hand with the people who are creative, hardworking, and aggressive.

My last blog discuss the general Feng Shui forecast for the Rat, Ox, Tiger, Rabbit, Dragon and Horse. Let me talk about the other six animal sign.

THE SNAKE:
This year heaven smiles upon the people born under the sign of the Snake. This means that compared to the other signs, Snake born people will find it relatively easy to get anything that they truly aspire for. However, the Robbery and Quarrelsome star also affects the Snake. This means that Snake born people will need to be extra careful not only with their material things but also with their ideas. On top of that, they should also try to be more patient because they also have the propensity to get in to a fight, whether this is verbal or actual physical fight. But this happens to a lesser degree as compared with that of the people born under the sign of the Horse.

This year it will be nice if Snake born people will display the Double Horned Rhinoceros in the Southeast section of their house, or room, or office. The Snake can also benefit from carrying an Night Protection Amulet. I have something that I personally design depending on the year and month of birth. However, for those who doesn’t know me or unable to personally consult me, it will also be helpful if you can get a Kuan Kong pendant, it can be made of gold (as a jewelry), natural stones, wood, but don’t get anything that’s made of plastic. For Catholics or Christians who prefer not to wear anything that’s of Buddhist-Taoist symbols, you can get an image of St. James or Senor Santiago or St. Bede. St. Michael, who is also famous for protection, I believe, base on my research, works best against sickness and evil spirits.

THE GOAT/SHEEP:
Sheep born people finds themselves in direct conflict with the Tiger and they are also afflicted with the Five Yellow Killing Star. This is going to be a very challenging year for all Sheep born people. They will also find themselves trying to work harder just to maintain what they already have. People born under the sign of the Sheep will also have to be careful about their health and safety, this is still due to the effects of Five Yellow.

I highly recommend that all people born under the sign of the Goat/Sheep carry a Five-Element Pagoda keychain and/or wear the Five-Element Pagoda pendant. It will also be very good for them to put a Five-Element Pagoda on the Southwest sector of their home or room. For those who has the opportunity to consult with me, I can make a Tai Sui Protection Charm that will be specifically design base on the person’s birthday. It will also be nice if one can wear an Om Mani Pad Me Hum pendant or bracelet. Lastly, carrying a Tibetan Prayer Wheel either as a pendant will also be very beneficial.

THE MONKEY:
Being in direct conflict with the Tai Sui is really bad, and for this year, unfortunately, the Monkey finds itself in such a position. This will prove to be a very challenging year for people born under the sign of the Monkey. But luckily for Monkey born people, their inner chi are naturally strong therefore Monkey born people will be able to cope and go through the hardship brought about by being in direct conflict with the Tai Sui, they just have to make sure that they continuously try to be positive about things.

Those born under the sign of the Monkey who are also into business should be extra careful, because some people would naturally want to ‘steal’ their business. Also they should try to be more careful in what they say as not to offend other people which might also lead to problems.

One of the most powerful amulet against this concerns is the Tai Sui Protection Charm. Again if its not available it will also be nice if they can wear a Chong Kwei pendant and the 5-Element Pagoda pendant. It will also be nice if they can wear a Kuan Yin charm.

THE DOG:
This year the auspicious stars finds its way to the sector of the Dog. However, because the life essence of the Dog is weak, they will only benefit from this star in a very minimal way. However, because of this dog born people will have a series of small but very meaningful success or celebrations and because the Tiger is the Dog’s ally, the year will be nice to the people born under the sign of the Dog, just as long as you don’t get overcome by the Dog’s weak life essence. To help counter this it will be nice if Dog born people wear the 9-Eye DZI charm that helps gain ‘windfall luck’. Wearing it as a bracelet with citrine or clear quartz or jade/green stone will be great, but it will be better if one wears it as a pendant, and if this made of metal (gold/silver) with semi-precious stones even if only zircons as long as its really shiny it will be so much the better.

It might be also good if one can wear a mystic knot charm or pendant. If this is made of gold/silver with semi-precious stones or even shiny high grade zircon it will be better. Mystic Knot helps ‘activate’ lucks that may be a little elusive.

THE ROOSTER:
One of the luckiest sign this year is the Rooster. Rooster born people can look forward to a very auspicious year filled with achievements both in their personal and professional aspects of their life. If a Rooster continues to be humble, they will get the recognition that they deserve, on top of that, they will see advancement with their career.

To make sure that luck will continuously be showered upon the Rooster, it will be nice if they can make an offering to Kuan Yin every month. For non-Buddhist or non-Taoist Rooster they can offer flowers to the Virgin Mary every month and/or donate a small amount of money to charity. It will also be good if they can carry a Tibetan Prayer Wheel to continue to enhance their luck.

THE PIG/BOAR:
Kris Aquino is one of the most famous Filipino celebrity born under the sign of the Pig. So I guess a lot of you will be asking what’s in store for the Pig this year considering that it seems like Kris Aquino started her personal life with so much negative chi that even brought her some controversy involving Mayen Austria, and that also lead to what, as of the time of this writing, she termed as temporary separation with legal husband James Yap.

I need to be able to see Kris Aquino’s Bazi Chart for me to be able to make a complete and more accurate reading for what’s in store with her, and to be able to shed some insight as to why she seems to always get into personal problems like her husband’s involvement with Hope Centeno.

However, if you are to base it on my general forecast, this also seems to be a very good year for people born under the sign of the Pig. They will experience enormous satisfaction and fulfillment both in their personal and professional/career life, this is also largely because the Tiger is an ally of the Pig.

However, the Pig will have to take care of its reputation. They have the possibility to get into some sort of a ‘scandal’ or reputation concern this year. This might be a little align with what’s happening to Kris Aquino this year, on a side note, only time can tell whether her appearance on The Buzz will help her or destroy her reputation and make the Philippine Entertainment industry a little bit more interesting.

To help counter this reputation concern it will be really good if people born under the sign of the Pig will place a 9-Rings Sword in the Northwest sector of your home, office, or bedroom. Further to that it will also be good if you can wear a 9-Rings Sword pendant, but this can be a little challenging and it took me 2 years to find one and it cost me more about forty thousand pesos. As a replacement, one can also wear an Om Mani Padme Hum charm.

2010 Chinese Animal Sign General Feng Shui Forecast (Part 1)

Other than the general Feng Shui annual forecast that the public anticipates whenever Chinese New Year is approaching, people also seek out what’s in store for their specific Chinese zodiac or animal sign.

Let me share with you the general forecast for each sign. However, let me clarify that this is only base on the general luck for each of the animal sign base on their order of appearance in the Ba Gua and also base on where the Tai Sui/Grand Duke Jupiter/Year God, Five Yellow Killings Star/Five Killings Star, the Three Killings, and the different Flying Stars positions for the year of the Metal Tiger.

(I’ll discuss Tai Sui/Grand Duke Jupiter/Year God, Five Yellow Killings Star/Five Killings Star/Five Yellow Star, Three Killings, and Flying Stars further in my future blogs.)

While this is accurate for a general forecast, if you really want to have specific forecast for yourself it will help to do your Bazi/Paht Chee Feng Shui reading.

But in the meantime to serve as your basic guide here’s the 2010 Metal Tiger general forecast for each of the animal sign.

THE RAT:
The Romance Star has find its way to the people born under the sign of the rat. What this means is that your love luck will be blooming this year. However, one must also be careful with external romance, because while the romance star affects the internal romance, it also has the same effect to the external romance.

External romance here refers to extra marital affairs and/or even love for other people, other than your partner or members of the family. This also refers to the physical ‘shallow’ kind of love.

Internal romance refers to all love pertaining to families, friendship and the romantic love that a lot of us aspire for.

For the rat, you’ll find your love life really blooming, but because of this might cause some unwanted distraction in the work/career front.

For celebrity fans that wants to know about whether their favorite stars are going to make it through the year. Especially for Kimerald fans, the answer is for this year a lot of people will find themselves getting involved with External Romance, but if your favorite celebrities are born under the year of the rat it will be extra challenging.

Because of this it is highly recommended for married couples to have a picture or image of ‘married swans’ in their bedroom. It will also help if they’ll have a couple of Mandarin Ducks in their living room.

For singles, it will be nice to have a Dragon and Phoenix in harmony charm.

However, unfortunately, the rat also has the Three Killings and the Natural Disaster Star, and this might create several problems to the rat, maybe even sickness. For this I highly recommend for people born under the sign of the rat to have the 3-Celestial Guardians or the 3-Tiger Taming Deities in the North side of your living room. It will also help if you carry an image of a Dragon or wear a pendant with the image of a Dragon.

The Rat also gains the education luck. This means for Rat born students with diligence it may be easy for you to pass any exams. Just a few weeks ago I got a call from Rat born person wanting me to check whether he’ll pass the UPCAT. While technically speaking we haven’t entered the year of the Metal Tiger (in terms of Chinese New Year) I know that by this time he would already have benefited from this luck. So even if the UPCAT 2010 results has not been released yet I told him that I believe he will pass the test.

THE OX:
This is going to be a challenging year for the people born under the sign of Ox of we are to talk about health. Except maybe for the 61 year old Ox. But more on that later.

The Sickness/Accident stars flies to the corner of the Ox this year and to make things worst the Ox is in side conflict with the Tai Sui which will naturally make the life energy or life chi of the Ox feel low.

Therefore all Ox people should be take extra care of their health this year. It will be advisable to get an executive medical check-up and it would help a lot if a person born under the sign of the Ox to be extra careful in what they eat and in how they treat their body. This means that it would be nice to keep it in balance in terms of work and play. Avoid stressful things and learn how to relax, but as I said it has to be balance. If an Ox born person is overly relax this might also lead to high blood or being over weight.

To avoid or to help counter health problems it will be nice for Ox born people to wear a Holy Gourd that’s made of Jade or Metal. It also helps to have a Holy Gourd made of metal or wood place beside the bed. It will be better if this Holy Gourd is something that can be open. I do perform a special blessing for this and put some joss stick powder/ashes that came from a temple in China. But if you can’t find anything that can be open that is also perfectly fine.

As mentioned the Ox is also in side conflict with the Tai Sui and because of this even if the Wealth Star flies to the corner of the Ox this year, they might not completely feel its benefit. To manage this it will be advisable for you to place a pair of Pi Yao in the Northeast sector of your house or room. You can also carry the Tai Sui Protection Charm which I normally design depending who is your Tai Sui ally. I give this for free for every consultation and if I think there is a need for you to carry one. This Tai Sui Protector Charm includes joss stick ashes/powder from Tibet and some crystals. If you can’t see me it will be nice if you can carry a Pi Yao charm or pendant with and the Great Happy Buddha pendant.

The successful, hardworking, and creative Ox, especially the 37-year-old Ox, might suffer from intense politicking from Horse and Dragon born people. To counter this problems have a Rhinoceros charm or wear a cicada pendant or charm to protect you from intense negative energy of politicking. Ox born people should also be careful with back stabbers who might try to steal some of their ideas.

THE TIGER:
The biggest misconception is that a person if he/she is born under the ruling sign of the year. That’s totally wrong!

Like the Ox, people born under the sign of the Tiger should take extra care of their health. They need to avoid overly stressful situation and don’t ever get involved with high-risk sports. Because Tiger born people also has the Sickness/Accident Star. The Tiger born person would greatly benefit from the healing effects of a Holy Gourd. Wear it as a pendant or as charm. It can be made from jade, any kind of semi-precious or precious stone, or gold. Placing a Holy Gourd beside the bed will also be very beneficial. Again if you can get one that can be opened it will be great. You can put some crystals and herbal medicines inside it.

And because the Tai Sui is in your corner this year. It will also be nice if you can carry the Tai Sui Protection Charm. I do make this specifically for the person and it’s for free fro every Feng Shui consultation. However, if you can’t see me you can also get a pair of Pi Yao and the Great Happy Buddha charm.

The Tiger born people will also find themselves involved in competitive pressures and intense politicking. Unfortunately, like the Ox, you might experience this intense politicking from people born under the sign of the Horse, which will be delivered under the guise of concern and clarification. They might say, “I just want to clarify what I heard…” but it’s very possible that they didn’t actually heard it from anybody but they might just be making it up. Be assured that before going to you they would have already talk to other people about it. To counter this negative chi wear a Cicada charm and place a 3-Horned Rhinoceros on your table or bedroom.

THE RABBIT:
It’s good news for the Rabbit. If the past two years has been bad for you, this coming year of the Metal Tiger is going to be a good for Rabbit born people. The Heaven Stars flies into your corner this year so it is going to be generally smooth, peaceful, and productive year for Rabbit born people. You’ll be successful this year but you because of the lack of water in the Bazi or Paht Chee chart for this year, you will have to creative for you to be able to attain your wealth luck.

To continue to enhance this luck it will be nice for the Rabbit born people to wear a Kuan Yin pendant or charm. If worn us a bracelet use the rutilated quartz and/or a clear quartz as the enhancing stone.

THE DRAGON:
The Dragon is the most auspicious sign of the twelve. Nevertheless, Dragon born people will find their luck reduced this year. This is mostly due to troublesome people, which again MIGHT be coming from people born under the sign of the Horse. (There is an explanation to this. Don’t think that Horse born people are bad.) As a boss or colleague they might not like your aura of self-confidence and positive chi. As an employee the ‘troublesome person’ might back stabbed you with false politeness and with their false aura of loyalty. They might also consciously or unconsciously spread discontentment among your other employees and even partners or clients. They might even steal your client away and destroy everything from within. To counter this it will be nice for you to have the Hum syllable pendant, preferable made of metal, and you can also place a Thousand Hand Kuan Yin on your work table. It will also be very beneficial if your carry with you a 3-Horned Rhinoceros with you all the time.

THE HORSE:
People born under the sign of the Horse will enter the year of the Metal Tiger with their head help up high! This is a strong year for the people born under the sign of the Horse. Horse people will find themselves plenty of self-confidence and natural positive chi. But because of this horse born people will find themselves becoming louder, more hotheaded because they’ll start to think that they’re perfect and they’ll find themselves impatient with other people. People born under the sign of the Ox will be your favorite target, only because they seem to be the embodiment of what you are not. You will put extra attention to Ox born people who may be equally successful or more successful than you are.

To top it off, you have the argument star in your sector this year, so this might lead to a court case or even a physical fight.

To help counter all these negative chi, it will be nice for you to wear a Lotus charm to help you have mental clarity and to help you be more humble. You can also wear a Fireball charm to help counter the argument star. You can have this either as pendant or you can place it inside your room or office. You can also wear the Great Happy Buddha charm to help maintain peace and harmony.

I just want to share that just this morning a client from Cebu gave me a call. She said her Horse born husband is starting to be hot headed. Upon checking her husband’s Bazi chart I recommended for him to wear an amethyst ring. I know it’ll work for him, but an amethyst is not something I’ll recommend to all Horse born people. It will depend on their Bazi chart.

This is just the first part of my general animal sign forecast. I’ll share the forecast about the next six animal signs on my next blog. But I just would like to share something about charms that are made of metal. When I say metal charms that you wear on your body, more often than not, I refer to gold jewelry. The Chinese believes that wearing gold enhances the positive chi of a Feng Shui charm. If this charm is embellished with diamonds or other precious or semi-precious stones all the better, because the natural shine and chi of the stones will add positive chi to the power of the charm. Let me clarify though that it’s not a must to have your Feng Shui charm in gold but it’s more of a nice to have for its added benefit.

2010 Year of the Metal Tiger Feng Shui Forecast

Checking the yearly forecast has been customary for a lot of us, especially for those who believes in Feng Shui.

As early as November, I’ve been getting a lot text messages and email inquiring about what the year of the Tiger has in store for us. I would like to share with you a text message sent to me by one of my client.

She asks: “Since it is the Year of the Metal Tiger, some Chinese would consider it to be the Year of the Golden Tiger, suggesting wealth, while others would call it the Year of the White Tiger, denoting bad luck. What do you have to say on this matter? Will it be a good year or a bad one?”

The reason I’m sharing here question is because I think she pose two of the most common question, but before I answer it I would like to clarify that the 2010 Metal Tiger doesn’t start until Feb 14, 2010 which is the date of the Chinese New Year this year, but we will start feeling the effects of the Metal Tiger starting on Feb. 4.

Now to answer her question…

If you look at the Feng Shui chart and element you’ll notice that it only consists of 5 elements, which are Metal, Fire, Wood, Water, and Earth. There is no such thing as Gold or White; therefore technically speaking there is no such thing as Golden Tiger or White Tiger. However, Chinese normally associate metal with gold because of their belief, which is also widely accepted in Feng Shui, that gold enhances a person’s luck or adds to the ‘potency’ of a lucky object. On the other hand, White, which is also sometimes associated with Metal, was used by Chinese to connote a bad year ahead because White is the color of death for Chinese.

It’s not easy to answer the question whether it is going to be a good or bad year, because the 2010 Paht Chee Chart of the Metal Tiger is extremely interesting, at first glance one will say that it is an extremely difficult year because the Tiger whose earthly branch represents the wood is in direct conflict with the heavenly branch of the year which is metal. Those who are familiar with Feng Shui knows that these two elements are in direct contrast with each other. To further add to the problem the whole Paht Chee chart for the year lacks the element of water, even the hidden heavenly stems of the year lacks water. If the water element is missing this could only mean that there is a complete drying up of resources. Growth in all aspect of life should not be expected or will prove to be very challenging.

Nevertheless, there are two heavenly stems that are of the earth element that shows that the year does not lack wealth opportunities. This may seem conflicting with the first statement but what this says is that wealth will be present to those who are creative, aggressive, and hard working. However, this is not like a new kind of wealth but more wealth that stems from what you already have.

What is Feng Shui?

I think Feng Shui is synonymous to Chinese New year or the Lunar New year, and it is also synonymous to the Chinese. I once heard a Filipino friend said that Feng Shui must work because a lot of his Chinese friends are really rich. The statement is not exactly accurate because most rich Filipino-Chinese do work hard for their money and there are Filipino-Chinese who are not financially rich, but I do know that a lot of Filipino-Chinese do practice Feng Shui thus it helps them with their everyday lives.

Feng Shui has reach a certain popularity and a lot of people has some understanding of what Feng Shui really is but to be quite honest its difficult to say what Feng Shui really is.

Nevertheless, in the years I’ve studied about Feng Shui I came to describe Feng Shui as an art of ancient science that has its roots in Mainland China. It is a study of how the Chinese view the Universe, where all things here on Earth are categorized into five elements (water, earth, wood, fire, metal) that take on an implication with energy or chi, w/c in turn can be categorized as positive or negative chi.

Feng Shui’s literal translation is wind and water.

While certain mysticism surrounds the practice of Feng Shui, I only attribute this to the fact that a lot of things involve in the practice of Feng Shui has been lost. A lot of the books either didn’t survive time and/or were intentionally destroyed, especially, since a lot of Emperors would like Feng Shui to be exclusive to them. On top of that, Mao Zedong also banned the practice of Feng Shui and had a number of books destroyed and Feng Shui experts killed.

Nevertheless, a lot of symbolism is involve in the practice of Feng Shui that may help affect the chi of our surroundings that in turn will have an effect on the different facets of our life.

While Feng Shui promises much in terms of bringing physical/mental/emotional and material balance or blessing to those practice and follow its ‘rules’, we must all remember that Feng Shui is not magic. Although it brings miracles to our lives its still a ‘science’ unto its own.

Feng Shui may have miraculous effects in our lives but its only one face of our life. The Chinese believe that our life is composed of 3 Branches: Tien Ti Ren or Heaven, Earth, and Man. Tien or Heaven’s Luck is something that we cannot change, it is believe that once a person is born his/her life is already pre-destined. But we are always given 2 paths and this is where Ti or Earth’s Luck and Ren or Man’s Luck comes in. Ti refers to the practice of Feng Shui and this is something that we can control by making sure that we are in constant harmony with our surroundings and with this planet. Lastly, Ren refers to the things that we do to our life. This refers to how we manage or on how we control our life. Thus this explains that we cannot completely rely on Feng Shui. We cannot be carrying all the Feng Shui tools/charms available in the market and be lazy. Ren is the luck you create for yourself.
